Review: Chrome Metropolis Messenger Bag..

Photobucket
Urban1cycle got there hands on a Chrome Bag Metropolis Messenger bag. Having numerous messenger bags over the years, all I can say is WOW! Chrome Bag’s have to be one of the best companies out there making bags and other items for the biking scene. The Metropolis Messenger bag is the large size in there line of messenger bags, you would be able to pack a full day’s worth of stuff in this bag and probably still have room.. it’s HUGE.
Photobucket
Chrome Bags build there bags with the highest quality in mind and using the best industrial materials out on the market to make there bag the toughest and strongest out there. The main strap is pretty much automotive seat belt material with an huge quick release chrome buckle being one of there trade marks on there messenger bags. The detail they take in the stitching of the bag, lining the inside with a independently suspended weatherproof truck tarp liner with military spec binding eliminates any seams exposed to the outside elements.

The Metropolis has small pockets that can hold: pens, cell phone, stickers , ipod.. The bag also has a zipper pockets for your more important items such as wallet and keep your money safe as you ride, on the back side of the zip pocket you have a larger pocket that is perfect for keeping tools, or extra tubes for any repairs you need while on the streets.

Bike Collection

Here at Urban1Cycle, we always happy to receive emails from our fans with pictures of their fixie/single speed rides. So we were pretty excited to get a nice bike collection pics that belongs to Phil from www.fixy.ch . Here are some pictures from his collection for you to enjoy:

According to Phil, this bike was found in a cellar following a fire. So after hundreds of hours of restoration and painting this is the result:

garufi

This bike was made by error. I believe Phil tried to make a full carbon bike but was having problems matching those parts, so here is the end result.

black mamba

This one is the lightest bike Phil got. Bike got aluminum frame with aluminum/carbon forks.

This next bike is Phil’s first full assembly from A to Z. It took him 6 months to get all the parts and put it all together. Enjoy:

One man’s trash…

Is another man’s treasure.

We love the fact that this rider found this frame in a trash and converted to a perfectly functioning single speed bike. Not only this bike is functioning but it is a damn good looking also.

Call it what you want: going green, recycling… etc, but this is how street fixed gear/single speed cycling started. You take an old frame and convert it to a kick ass street bike. No need to spend thousands of dollars on a brand new shiny bike.

Here is some info from Cody, rider who put together this bike:

“I have a single speed road bike, frame is by Mohawk. I originally found this bike in the trash, I’ve put some Alex DA28 Rims and Vittoria Rando’s and a San Marco Rolls saddle, everything else is original. I live in Cape Coral, Florida. Just thought I would show you guys what I’m working on.”  Our hats go off to you Cody for a job well done. Let us know if you do any other mods on this bike.

Here are some pics for you to enjoy:

Velocity’s B43’s are the bomb!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Urban1cycle got our hand’s on a set of Velocity B43’s, and totally fell in love with them. With the deep 43mm triple walled rim it make’s the Deep V look like child’s play. To some the B-43’s are too deep, to others its perfection.. The big question that was up in the air was how the wheel would perform with brakes. On my Se Lager I use a front brake on my single speed setup.. thus making people question the performance of the wheel with the brake.
PhotobucketPhotobucket

After dropping the wheels off @ 66Fixed in St.pete, Fl. Micheal tuned up the brakes, making sure the toe in is perfect on the wheel is very important to make the braking the best it can be. Over time yes the color will probably wear down, but if your interested in a deep high quality wheel, the B43 is the way to go..

Here are some specs of the Velocity B43:
The B43 AKA the Brisbane43, at 43mm deep, triple walled, and in drillings up to a 48h the B43 is the ultimate rim for tricking, and bike polo. If you’re looking for stiffness, rigidness, pure strength, and the bling that goes with it, roll these on your whip.
