We come to you with another girl on bike shoot.. The inspiration behind this shoot is our one and only lovely Max.. He runs all the behind the scenes and “IT” issues at Urban1cycle.com and well of course we he is from the motherland of Russia.. We have known Cristina for many years now, and she came up with the classic title for this feature “In Russia, bike rides you” being that Max designed his bike with some Russian “flare”.. It’s a SE draft with a upgraded crank, and SE Lager wheels..Please check out our gallery for a full photoshoot set. Enjoy….

Bike tools you can’t leave home without.

If you ride a lot then you know that it is always smart to carry bike tools with you just in case. I finally got tired o carrying multiple wrenches and pliers “just in case” , so lately I’ve been looking for a way to have all the necessary tools with me without the weight of a toolbox in my bag. Now I do believe I found a perfect combo for every bike rider out there.

First choice is of course is Surly’s Jethro Tule. It is made from stainless-steel, then polished to a high luster. It combines an offset box wrench on one end with a leverage-enhanced bottle opener on the other… Yes bottle opener, nothing like having a frosty beer at the end of a ride. Livestrong x Nike Sportswear Air Zoom Tiempo

Nike’s design team worked with Lance Armstrong to create a Zoom Tiempo inspired by Lance’s hometown, Austin Texas. The Air Zoom Tiempo draws inspiration directly from the cyclists of Austin and one of the city’s most iconic cycling stores in the world, Mellow Johnny’s. The shoe also draws inspiration from the art bikes created to help raise funds and awareness for the Lance Armstrong Foundation this summer. Finally, it takes the iconic LIVESTRONG yellow and integrates it throughout the design of the shoe.

Highlighted features include: Juxtaposing soft premium oiled leather with aggressive anti-abrasive materials and black contrast stitching. The design is inspired by the two sides of Lance: The world’s greatest road cyclist and a man deeply connected with the culture of his sport. “Texas” and “Austin” are boldly placed on the shoe heels. The stitches crossed on the words give an unfinished and rough touch. Contrasting yellow and black sockliners build on the LIVESTRONG and Mellow Johnny’s bike shop theme. The crafted Starks laces with black aglets (tips) complement the refined, but aggressive, design.

The Livestrong x Nike Air Zoom Austin Tiempo is available on October 24th, 2009 exclusively at Mellow Johnny’s and Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer. It will be released more broadly in November along with the other three Tiempos collaborated with cyclists from Paris, Berlin and San Francisco. For more information visit THE CTRS.

Here is a sick colab we came across.. Brooklyn Machine Works x Domeau & Pérès x Pharrell.. This bike takes some real craftsmanship and skill do completely wrap this bike in yellow leather and doing a sick stitch job on it… Well done.. if you want this bike.. you better get to Paris in a hurry, there was only 1 bike made.. good luck picking this one up!

Osloh just release jeans just for the fixed gear scene. They are the spoke denim jean. No more rubber bands around the ankle or rolling up the jeans. They come with two velcro straps on the back so when your riding you just tighten them so your jeans wont get caught in the chain..
