Though it was really hot that day, lots of people showed up on all kinds of bikes. There were games of polo going on, some BMX riders showing off, nice track and road bikes plus some interesting characters with crazy looking bikes. For full gallery click here

The Bicycle Bash is designed as a populist, mainstream bicycle event that is
offering an official invite to bicyclists of all stripes — bike commuters and
roadies; mountain bikers and single-speeders; fat-tire cruisers and recumbent
cyclists. Urban1cycle will be there October 11th to check this event out. Hope to see you all there. Here are some pics of the previous year event.

“In 1993 the first-ever Cycle Messenger World Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, and with it an international community and new sport emerged.
The Berlin Bike Messenger Association (BBM e.V.) hosted the 14th-annual European Cycle Messenger Championships over Pentecost weekend in Berlin.
The ECMC 2009 brought hundreds of professional bike messengers from Europe and beyond together for three days of races and social activities. ECMC celebrated messenger unique profession and attendant lifestyles.”

Grand opening track and field day September 13th in Dallas, TX.
In celebration of Dallas’ new track bike shop, Transit Bicycle Co., some people are throwing Track and Field day. It’s coming up on September 13th, from noon to sunset.

Krillz and Stoned Tone are throwing what looks to be one of the best alleycats of the summer. It’s a two part race, with stops in Shaolin, the Brooklyn Zoo, and Manhattan – all specific to Wu-Tang and their history.
