Create a UK bike company released second version of their fixed/single speed bike. Bikes available in all kind of candy-colored setups just like bikes at Republic Bikes or Urban Outfitters. This second version uses better components and also it is a lot cheaper than their first version of these bikes. So far online price is 199 UK pounds. New lower price and lots of better components makes this bike a pretty good bargain.

White and red color scheme on fixed gear bikes is one of my favorites setups so I was very excited to learn that fixed gear track bike brand Red You R Dead finally opened up their new showroom location in L.A. The company was started by Blake Coburn and Patrick Winget a little over two years ago. Their custom model “Masher” starts at $599.00 which is not bad. If red/white is not your cup of tea, they will do custom powder coat for about $26.00

Lately we’ve been hearing a lot about handmade leather straps from Plemons Co . Created by former bike messengers these straps made with solid brass rivets and buckles and available in variety of colors. We had a chance to look at a couple of them and these straps are pretty meaty as far as leather, though the brown color ones look the thickest. If you interested in getting them, check out their site (it is a little out of wack) for the list of local shops that carry their product.
Jruiter Studio has designed a compact bicycle with no chain to be used in an inner city environment with minimal space.
Designers ended up rethinking what a “frame” meant, getting rid of basic key components, and creating a new type of bicycling that is more about fashion and culture than speed and performance.
Is this the next look for the fixed gear scene? I hope not haha.. to me it looks like a unicycle with a front wheel, but to each their own.. we shall see what 2010 bring us in the bike scene..
Another bike that caught our attention at an InterBike show was Asian inspired: The OX from Independent Fabrication. I think this is probably one of the best looking bikes out there. Unfortunately upon further inquires we found out that this is only a concept bike and not a full production bike. Too bad… though would be interesting to see somebody else repeating this color scheme on their fixie.
Crooked C-Law has given a sneak peek to a colab he did with Adidas Samba to create the Fixed Gear Pack. There is no info on pricing or where you can pick these up.. Totally feeling the black pair, can’t wait til they are released..
The Standard and SE came together to colab on the PK Ripper fixed gear bike. The Standard took 20 of the 1000 PK Ripper Fixed gear bike to make a super limited edition bike, 15 of these bikes will be at The Standard in NYC to be used by there customers and 5 will be sold online at there online store. I personally like the all flat black with the front gold wheel.. super nice bike with a price tag of $1250 USD.
