We headed over to Reign in Orlando, Fl for the first showcase for them.. Mai Hiro had there first show of 2010, it exhibited  several of upcoming Mai Hiro products and other brand collaboration projects with Kidrobot, Akufuncture, Kuso Pop, Fury Animals, Linda Le, The Dirty Cream and more.

All Spiki colorways that exists will be on display, and the upcoming new 8″ Spiki figure will be on display. Exclusive Mai Hiro themed Kuso Pop merchandise will be available like; key chains, cellphone charms and sticker packs. Exclusive jewelry from Dave “Outtamymind” Quiles, and as always customs and new artwork will also be available. Along with the Urban1cycle x Nakanari SE draft bike.

Reign brought out DJ Mark-V for live music and yummy goodness was hooked up by Bento Cafe and boba tea from Lollicup. Here to announce that our friends over at Mai Hiro are teaming up with Reign in Orlando to host there first show.. It’s definitely  going to be a hot show.. a must for anyone in around Florida.. Everyone wants to get out and ride, but not everyone has an abundance of extra cash sitting around to grab the latest and greatest Fixie/single speed bike. So what to do? Well we decided to take Walmart up on its Mongoose Single Speed bike offer. Coming in at a reasonable $149.99 would this bargain prices bike give us the performance and satisfaction we were looking for? Let’s find out in Part 1 of our budget build.

First thing first, we found our donor bicycle at the local Walmart bike isle sporting all the consummate badges and sales tags one could stick on it. After giving it a once over, we noticed a small one inch scrape on the top tube. Being the savvy shoppers we are, we mentioned it to management. That eye spy moment turned into a $10 discount. Around a 7% right off the top, enough to cover taxes. Not too shabby. So we take our new pride and joy home to really get a better look.

General Impressions

Overall the bike looks decent. The black and white theme seems to carry well, however Mongoose has seen fit to apply 10 lbs of stickers to the bike. It feels busy as a result of all the safety items and visual effects they saw fit to add to it. It’s a tall frame. If your under 5’ 7” I would be weary. All the safety items are present and it even comes with a manual.

Another fun Saturday, this time it was  bike race with a cause in Clearwater with all proceeds going to Beardsman Foundation. Check out our gallery for a huge coverage of this cool event. The Beardsman Foundation, formed in 2008, was conceived to create awareness and aide to mentally ill homeless. For more info check out their site here and here.

Sick custom paint job from Death Spray Custom from London on Racelite Track Bike. Guess they couldn’t stop there and did same paint job on other items like Ducati 1026, hatchet and faces, lol. Paint job inspired by Flying Tigers WWII nose art.

Coming April 24th is Fixed Fight 4.. We can’t wait..

Here is a sneak peek of coverage of Frankincorn 2010 Coverage.. This was probably one of the best race’s we have been to. Very well put together and ton’s of stuff going on.. Awesome job and we can’t wait til next year.. A full gallery coming soon!

Our close friend’s over at  Tunerzine.com has posted coverage TAS “Tokyo Auto Salon”, in the coverage was a shot of a fixed gear bike built by a car designer or a aftermarket part company.. company unknown right now.. hopefully we can find out more. This bike looks sick!
