Us Versus Them has teamed up with SE Bikes to design the best fixed freestyle frameset available.  Spearheaded by UVT’s James Banuelos, the Us Versus Them frame was designed from the ground up to withstand the harshest abuse that riders are putting their bikes through. Tested by Gus Molina, Josh Boothby, and DJ Mull, the frame has been put through months of abuse to make sure that the frame is bombproof. The Cr-Mo frame has been fully heat treated with the top and down tubes being double butted. The seat tube has been cut-out to allow clearance for larger (50c) tire sizes along with ovalized & tapered seat and chain stays for extra tire and foot clearances.

The 73mm mid bottom bracket and Campy compatible integrated headset are both externally machined and a sealed Tange headset comes installed as well as a trick integrated seat clamp. Finally, the Landing Gear forks are heat treated & butted for even more strength.

To match the aggressive nature of the technical specs, UVT designer Graham Nystrom gave the bike his signature treatment, choosing a gunmetal grey paint for the base color of the frame, and wrapping a tonal hand drawn snake scale print around the front, the brand motto “Never Stop” is printed on the brake bridge along with UVT/SE branding on the seat tube.

Here is an interesting quad fixed prototype.

News release:

“It was only a matter of time ‘till we put pen to paper & drafted up the first ever Quad Fixed frame. What you see here is #1 of one. Strictly prototype & still in the development stage. This frame was handed off to Marwin “The Wizard” Ou last night. Marwin will be riding & testing it on the streets & skateparks of the LBC in the coming months. We have not yet decided if we will bring the Quad Fixed frame into SE’s 2012 line of bikes. So for now, just consider it our little pet project. AFFINITY CYCLES x KENZO MINAMI = DIGITIZER from Cinecycle on Vimeo.

The signature Affinity “Kissena“ track frame is the key component of “Digitizer” and represents the pinnacle of bicycle frame technology. Kenzo Minami, an artist who grew up in Japan in the ’80s, experienced the huge economic boom fueled by the country’s technological supremacy firsthand. The graphic design that dominated that era embraced a euphoric dream of all that technology could be. Kenzo’s inspiration for “Digitizer” came from this nostalgia, tempered with practical purpose. Here is another great bike  collaboration, this time by  Look and Lacoste. We have no technical specs yet, but it  looks  like  this bike has a belt drive instead of chain. Hmm… never tried one of those. We do like this ghost bike look we’ve seen around U.S. Rumor is that this bike will be released around Spring 2011.
