A few months back urban1cycle was brain storming and came up with the idea to bring two different idea’s together.. the fixed gear / single speed scene with vinyl toy world.. Some might not know too much about vinyl toy’s… many companies out there that product high end vinyl toys that I consider art and others do too.. Many big names out there such as Maihiro and Kidrobot.. After looking through Maihiro work, I def got interested and wanted to work together with them.. I contacted Nakanari @ Maihiro, after a few weeks of idea’s being tossed around. He came up with the ninja skitty idea. Then I contaced our boys @ Velocity wheels, who were totally down for the colab… and we got our hands on a sick set of white B43’s.. Here is a sneak peek of the colab… COMING SOON!
Here is a wheel detail of the design..
Today at the COP 15 Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, M.I.T. students introduced the technologically advanced Copenhagen Wheel. In addition to including various sensors and Bluetooth capability, the tire stores kinetic energy from braking for a later burst of speed.
The makers of the Copenhagen Wheel from M.I.T.’s SENSEable City Laboratory claim that the new features mark the advent of “Biking 2.0,” a new era based on smarter bikes and easier rides. The wheel is certainly a step in that direction; it includes sensors for detecting distance, speed, direction, all of which are beamed via Bluetooth to the rider’s iPhone. The wheel also includes a built-in lock that sends the rider a text if tampered with.

Not sure if you can call this a true bike because seems like it has a power assist feature but it does sound like a good idea for people who just want to get around town without a car or people just trying to be more “green”.
Trek now offers a closer look into its District bike made in collaboration with Lance Armstrong. Among the many features, the bike boasts a carbon fiver frame, carbon fiber composite yellow belt drive system, and hints of LIVESTRONG yellow within a mostly black design.
We’ve heard of these bikes before but never actually seen one, till now. They are pretty unique and if you into green-save the planet thing, this is bike for you. It is made by Misuelli bike company. Price starts at about $1300 but you can get a frame for $800. I do like that every bike looks different due to the natural product ” bamboo” . I’m curious to find out what would be the frame weight when it is entirely made from bamboo.
If you got $1600.00 laying around you can pick up this beauty. This bike reminds us of a Cinelly vintage design. Bike by Bertelli NYC.

Thanks to all the folks that sent us these pics. Most of these bikes were found in the trash or attics and lovingly restored and converted to fixed gear bikes. For more pics go to our gallery.
