With fixed gear and cycling in general being more and more popular every day, we see more and more small independent companies popping up all over the world with some cool looking products. Here is one such example. Small Korean company Krop makes some cool looking handmade pedal straps out of recycled materials. So many stiles and so many colors to choose from… I think I will go for leopard white.

Cool idea from Lee Myung Su Design Lab : LED lights on a backpack with a control panel. This backpack works in two modes: driving mode and emotion mode. In driving mode LED display works like stop lights and turn signals and in emotion mode you can display emoticons. I’m surprised I haven’t see more of these LED backpacks for cyclists already.

Here is a preview of a cool little project from Benny Gold. This is a finished product of a project between Benny Gold and Japanese bag maker SAG. Looks pretty cool from what we can see. Wouldn’t mind rocking that while biking around  town. Hope we will see more info and pictures of this project very soon…

In the summer of 2009, 13 cyclists from Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco took their fixies to the Land of the Rising Sun for an ambitious undertaking: A 350-mile tour from Tokyo to Osaka. Their goal (along with survival) was to experience a more intimate kind of travel and make a documentary of their adventure. After watching these videos… I want to do this type of trip so bad…. Fixed gear/ single speed is very big in Japan. It’s not uncommon to see fixie chicks riding around Tokyo. Love their style with a Japanese twist…
